Weight Loss Is Easy! Jonathan Ressler, July 19, 2024August 1, 2024 Hey everybody. This is Jonathan Ressler here with an emergency public service announcement for all of the overweight and obese people out there who complain about how hard weight loss is. I posted about my journey on Reddit and some guy got back to me and was complaining that my message sounded spammy and clickbait. I am not sure why since I was selling nothing and did not mention my book. I guess I did mention my podcast and that it was free and might be helpful if you are on a weight loss journey. So I guess that os what he was referring to. He said that is was dangerous for me to make it sound so easy since millions of people were struggling with their weight. I told him it might not be easy but it is simple if you really want to do it. Oh, the joys of listening to people whine about their weight loss struggles. Today, I had the distinct pleasure of being told that I was “not respecting their struggle” because I had the audacity to suggest that losing weight is as simple as making a choice. Yes, you heard that right—it’s a choice. But apparently, that’s too much for some to handle. Let’s get one thing straight: It’s 100% your fault if you’re overweight. There, I said it. If you can’t seem to shut your mouth and make the choice to eat the right foods, then what do you expect? A magical weight loss fairy to come and sprinkle some pixie dust on you? Please. We all know what we should be eating. It’s not rocket science. Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins—ring a bell? But no, you choose, either consciously or unconsciously, the wrong things. How convenient. Then you have the nerve to play the victim card and act like the universe is conspiring against your weight loss efforts. Newsflash: the only thing conspiring against you is your own lack of commitment to reach your desires. Stop being so weak. You are fat because of your choices. It’s that simple. Diets are just a band-aid on a much bigger problem: your inability to make better choices. You don’t need an app to count your calories or a meal plan to spoon-feed you what you should be eating. What you need is a reality check. And let’s talk about the weight loss industry for a moment. It’s designed for the weak and lazy. Yes, I said that too. It thrives on people’s desperation and laziness, offering quick fixes and miracle solutions that don’t address the real issue: your choices. You don’t need the latest diet fad, a fancy gym membership, or a high-priced personal trainer. All you need is the power of your mind to make better decisions. You don’t need discipline and willpower, you need better choices. Imagine that! It’s not about starving yourself or punishing your body; it’s about making conscious, intelligent choices about what you put into your mouth. But oh no, that’s too hard for some people. It’s much easier to buy into the weight loss industry’s nonsense and spend money on products that promise the world but deliver nothing. Here’s the kicker: once you start making small, smart choices, they build upon one another. It’s like a snowball effect. The more good choices you make, the easier it becomes to continue making them. You start with one healthy meal, then another, and before you know it, you’re 9consistently eating better and feeling better. The progress is gradual, but it’s real and sustainable. Magic drugs are not the answer. Harnessing the power of your mind is the only way to lose weight. Yes, it’s hard work. Yes, it takes time. But guess what? Anything worth having usually does. Don’t expect a quick fix that is sustainable because it doesn’t exist. What exists is your ability to make better choices consistently, day in and day out. Oh, and don’t respond with the tired mantra that the only way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than we burn. We all know that. The issue is not the knowledge; it’s the execution. It’s about making those small, smart choices every single day and letting them compound over time. So, to all the excuse-makers out there: save your breath. Instead of wasting time complaining about how hard it is to lose weight, why not use that energy to actually do something about it? Just sayin’. If you’re tired of being overweight, stop making excuses. Shut up and make better choices. Take responsibility for your actions and watch how quickly things change. It’s not about finding the perfect diet or exercise plan; it’s about making a series of better choices every day. It’s not glamorous, it’s not easy, but it’s the truth. So, next time you feel the urge to complain about your weight, remember: you are the problem and you are the solution. Embrace it, own it, and most importantly, do something about it.
