I spent almost 60 years on a weight-loss hamster wheel. More than 100 diets. More than 100 fresh starts. Every plan worked for a minute. Every plan failed. I blamed the diet. The truth was simple. I was the problem.

At 59 I weighed 411 pounds. I was on eight medications. I could barely move. I was exhausted and hiding from reality. Then I saw a photo of myself and everything stopped. No drama. No tears. No inspirational moment. I saw the truth.

The Excuses I Used for Decades

I believed these excuses because they kept me comfortable. If you believe any of these, you are lying to yourself the way I did:
